VW Show in Boerne

Postby Jack Duncan » 19 Mon Oct, 2009 10:13 am

I went to a VW show here in Boerne yesterday. I knew nothing about it, but my son called me and ask me why I wasn't there. I think I made it there in about 15 minutes. There was about 200 cars, all VWs and a few sand rails, and me with my Bandit. I would like to see more buggies show up next year, so I'll try to keep everyone informed about it next year. :)

I was going to try to make it Sunday, but had to get back to Oklahoma Sunday night. I showed the car at the Forum on Saturday. Got a 2nd place trophy with it, (hard to get past some of those vettes especially in a vette and classic car show) but did leave with the largest trophy, a 4 footer for coming the farthest. I dont think some of the Texas people cared for that and going to a buggy also??? I guess for just coming down to do some Fine tunning on the engine that was a plus. The guys at buggy warehouse did say that was going to be a big show and cruise.

I didn't know about that one either, but I haven't been to the Buggy Warehouse lately. Adrian would have said something I'm sure.
Hey, congrats on the Long Distance Award. Don't worry about what Texans think about it. It's not a Texas trophy anyway, or they wouldn't call it a Long Distance Trophy. :)

Hi everyone, long time...

I actually heard about this show a few days before and talked the wife into giving me a day off. I took a couple buddies and drove the rail to Boerne to check it out. I was not there long, but was able to say hi to Jack.

I was surprise at the size of the show. Filled the entire square with cars and the street on the south side had several vendors setup.

I never could find the class listing, but only one rail and it was not yoBoy, so I guess I could of had a chance... if I would have only entered. I think Jack had the only bodied buggy, so it seems opportunities abound for club members next year?

Maybe the VW. Community is trying to hide it from us. You know how we have a tendencey to come in and take over. Lol

Remember a couple of years ago when we had a hard time getting the trophy for most members of a club affilation present. It was at the ft worth round-up. It's just a buggy thing.

I do believe the show is put on by VOSA, (Volkwagen owners of San Antonio), but i'm sure you all now that. Bug-e-warehousemi one of the sponsors, and that is how I found out about it. We have a Make a wish show tomorrow.
