Any buggies in Hawkins, Tx area? New to the hobby.

Postby eegreen » 21 Mon May, 2012 12:18 am

I keep seeing a maroon buggy near Lake Hawkins. I've tried to run him down twice to pick their brain but have yet to catch them. I have a red buggy that occasionally eats my lunch and almost always my wallet! Would like to have a few pointers from someone who has already been there in hopes of saving myself a lot if frustration and grief. Lol! My to-do list keeps getting shorter but my patience and bank account seem to be following suit! Lol! I know I'll get there. One foot in front of the other...right?! Lol! Manx buggy with a Corvair engine. To do list includes new fuel line ( not sure where to place it), minor electrical, new 130 tooth flywheel ( not sure I care to pull it apart to put that in! Can't start it without it or a good shove! Lol!), mount my seats , carpet, rear seats, bikini top....some body stop me already! Lol!

I remember now, Eric. It's probably JD Davis from this board that you're seeing. Here's his buggy

The guy in the middle is JD. The guy on the right is Greg from this board. The guy on the left is the former owner of my buggy, David Head.

Thanks for all the info. That is one of the buggies I have seen. Saw that one Saturday. I saw a red one two weeks ago with a Corvair motor I think. I haven't stumbled onto those shops yet tho.

They're north of town of Hwy 14 on CR 3947.
Give Neil a call and he'll give you directions.
