Ufortunately, I'm "Deep in the Heart of Texas" and don't know anyone in your area. But, if you could post up some good pictures along with the price you may be able to gleen some good advice from members of this group.

I questioned him about the disparity in the dates listed in the ad (says it needs to get out of impound before 1/13 but the ad was posted on 2/18. He responded with his number and the fact that it was removed from the lot, but the friend who paid the fee is keeping the buggy until he is reimbursed. Highly suspicious is why I'd like some to put eyes on it and test drive (and verify the title is in this guys name, free and clear)

ABsolutely! (You don't know how much I value my money ) I would never upfront money without very strong assurances and maybe even an escrow service.

Run away, run away!!!!!! There has to be a buggy here close by for you. There is a guy on the Samba that was burned twice buying stuff sight unseen. I think his handle is whygt? He just bought an Amante GT from pictures. Problem was those pics were old and misrepresented the car big time. Hold out for one close by. Give Rick Leddon a message he may let go of one of his many.

I really don't have a problem buying vehicles site unseen. I've purchased 3 cars over the internet and each was a pleasant transaction. I know you can get burned if you don't do your due diligence and I never bought one I didn't have checked out by a disinterested third party...that's the only way I would do it.

Thanks Ken, yes I have. I search daily using the "google manx buggy site:craigslist.org"

Also "dune buggy site:craigslist.org"

Both of these produce a nation wide search of craigslist which is pretty cool. Also look at this site and the samba site daily for buggys. I ideally am looking for a lime green buggy.

Check Ebay..they always have a hand full of them for sale when I look through there!
