Jimmy Davis passing

Postby GregR » 08 Tue Sep, 2015 8:17 pm

To those who remember Jimmy and Donna Davis (the Pink Panther Classic Manx and green flake Manx), I found out that Jimmy passed away today.
No details or information on a memorial as yet.

Jimmy and Donna were very active in the club and among its first members.
Jimmy will be missed. Prayers to Donna and family.

Prayers for Donna and family.

Yes Jimmy will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He loved buggies and attending the vw shows. Billy and I remember both of them often.

Wow! Jimmie and Donna were the first "buggy people" we met when we showed up at Salado in 2006 looking for a bunch of buggies that were supposed to be at a buggy event that I had seen in a magazine. We were driving around the town looking for buggies and Jimmie and Donna (in their separate signature white/pink and green buggies) crossed on a road ahead of us that we were driving on. A hot pursuit followed and we finally flagged them down. It was the beginning of an awesome experience and we had no idea that it would lead to what it ended up to be. They escorted us to where the rest of the group was, and the rest is history. Each time we met them after that, we were blessed by their presence. What a neat couple!

Thank you for your kindness, and the good times we shared; God bless.

Condolences to the Davis family.
We had met Jimmy and Donna only a few times, but remember them well.
Prayers to the family.

A couple of years ago at the Fort Worth VW Show we won a door prize and included in the bag was this magazine. One of the features was Jimmy Davis' red Manx.
Most know about his beautiful green Manx but not sure how many know about this buggy. I remember Donna telling me about it at one of the shows.

I wonder where that buggy is today? Beautiful build! A Melissa Davis has a green Meyers Manx for sale on the Samba in Van Texas. I wonder if that is the same family?

I'm not sure if this is the one, but I do know he owned a Buggy made from a body he said was sold by Sears & Roebuck. At the time we talked about the car I had not started mine and he was thinking of selling it and I was interested in buying it.
