The Redemption Cruise

Postby Ken » 23 Fri Jun, 2017 12:44 pm

Dave, Christy and Delia, Angela and I are going to cruise out to Red Rock Steakhouse and Saloon tomorrow and have lunch. And we hope not to breakdown or run out of gas.

We'll go through Lockhart. Should be there around 11am. Short notice, but anyone able to join us would be welcome.

I wondered if you'd make a run. We had 3" of rain up here and it was moving south.
Maybe next weekend......

Nephew getting married this weekend in Nacogdoches, regardless of the bottle of bourbon and resulting talk we had. We'll be back for a Sunday retry. I will drive a bu.... oops... an "assembled vehicle using a manufacturered prefabricated body" to the Red Rock Steakhouse sooner or later.

Somehow Texas Manx "assembled vehicle using a manufacturered prefabricated body" Club just doesn't have that "ring" to it.
But it has a cool acronym TMAVUMPBC...now that'll look great on a cap!

Can't wait to see how the Factory 5 Kit Car people and the AC Cobra people get when they are finally forced to title their cars as "assembled". Something just does not seem fair about all of this!

Dave, Christy, Delia and I re ran the Buggy Blast cruise to Red Rock on Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. It was a great problem free ride. We had a great time with our good friends.

Congratulations! Sounds like you had a "Blast"! Nothing better than good friends, good food, and good beer. Which buggy did you drive?

Thanks Rick. We were in the rail. Unfortunately the Manx is not ready to ride. I've started work to pull the engine in the Manx, to find out what's causing a vibration issue I've had for a while. I hope to have it back together for the Roundup.

Hey Ken.....I had that problem years ago and found that one of the springs on the 3 knuckles on my original clutch had snapped. I replaced it with a more modern version but it did vibrate a lot before I fixed it.

Good luck sir

Thanks for the advice John. I'll look for that. I hope I find something obvious like that. Over the last year or so I have snapped several heavy duty alternator straps and the crank pulley bolt has worked out a few times.

I thought I just had a dog house that came loose and got cockeyed, but securing that and making sure it was set seems to have resolved the straps breaking, but still can't keep the crank pulley bolt from working loose.

I'll keep yall posted.
