Buggy Insurance

Postby djfalter » 29 Thu Mar, 2007 11:01 am

I'm looking to up grade my auto (BUGGY) insurance. I know I'm under insured because it's listed as a VW Bettle for $180 a year. Is anyone using an incurance company that can write a policy as a Dune Buggy.

Progressive I believe can. Check with David Head on that.
I have mine with State Farm (other insurance with them too) It has State Farm's antique insurance and a stated value. There are some restrictions on where and when I can drive it, sort of like with Antique plates ;-)
They have many pictures of it and know exactly what they insured.

Hey David,
Greg is right, I do have mine insured with Progressive. Its insured as a "1971 VW Dunebuggy" I'm only carrying Liability. If I crash it (Heaven Forbid) I will just have to repair it at my own cost. Basicly I just insure it to be legal.
Good Luck, David H.

I have mine thru Midwest classic insurance
dune buggys no problem
mine is registered as a VW but insured as a dune buggy
at a stated value of 15 K at $230 a year
with the driving restrictions as greg stated above
I dont think the restrictions will be bad for you
as they pretty much meet the criteria you use it for anyway
then again? are you using it as your cruzer yet LOL

Greg / David --- Are your buggies still registered as VW's?

Steve --- Does Midwest require you to insure any other of your vehicles with them, or do you just have the buggy insured?
