Hey there gang..
Speaking of judging, I remember a few years ago when I was showing my Red 68 Beetle, (VW Trends March 2004, page 54-55, shamless plug I know :D ) I made a few friends mad at me for actually judging thier cars and not using the friend factor. They got over it and after that point I refused to judge classes I knew people in. Shows are shows, people make it fun. I havent gotten to show any classes this year due to knee surgery and I miss yall terribly. Yall in the TMC make going to shows fun. Even though I sold my rail and went to a blue bug, I was still accepted. Hope to see yall soon, only got 1 year 8 months to retirement!!! WOO HOO, back to DFW!!

nice to see you got your posting licens back

a little something about about brian :D
first off he is a super nice guy we are all realy lucky to have him as a member.
his knowledge of VWS is very deep
we have spoken at many shows and I never got the feeling he was upity.
he paitently waited while he built his car only saying "it will be nice" 8-)
over a span of about 2 years and 15 or something shows we spoke many times about buggys and how his was or wasent coming along.
now that it is complete I think "Nice" is an understatement.

Brian welcome to the boards and please be free with your years of knowledge and hope to be able to go ride with ya this summer
shout out to my H town Possie

I agree, "Nice" is definitely an understatement for Brian's car. "Awesome" sorta comes to my mind.

Wish I had more of you buggy guys living closer. For years I was the only person in the Baton Rouge area with a buggy then Murz built his. Then Murz sold his and finally I sold mine when I bought the Ghia Vert. Anyway seeing all the buggy's at the show including my old Tweety made me wish I still had her. Shows are shows and everyone that entered did just that. We all showed. All to often I think there's just to much emphasis placed on winning. Not that winning is bad you understand. For me like so many of the rest of you it's really all about the people and the fellowship. The show is just the vehicle that get's us all together. It's great to get together and oooh and ahh a bit but it's even more fun to cruise together and just hang out. I too was a bit disenchanted with the judging aspect at the classic but it will improve I'm sure. If it doesn't, oh well. I'll continue to attend win or not just to be in the presence of a bunch of really nice cars and even better, the people who wash, wax, build and drive them. In my humble opinion everyone that attended was a winner.
I'll get down off my soap box now and return you to your regularily scheduled program already in progress.
