Postby yamasaki179 » 09 Mon Jul, 2007 8:29 pm

i just tore the engine out of my first bug so i can build my first buggy
or truggy whatever you want to call it
im chris and im just north of dallas in the colony
i look forward to meeting new people in my newest adventure
i ride standup jetskis and dirtbikes (pitbikes) and have built a few motorized vehicles, but im very excited about the build im getting ready to start
so my friend tells me that this guy wants this buggy truck body off his lot, and if we know someone who wants it to take it, so i did
ive always wanted a manx style buggy but assumed they were to hard to find
well look what i found
i know its in rough shape but i think she will shine again
i took the engine and trans out of a 1971 super beetle and im picking up a standard doner next sat so i will start then
i guess yo post pics the same on here as you do in the samba so
if i post my pics in the gallery would someone move them here
im a cumputing moron
nice to be a part of your site[/b]
if its to fast your to old.......

is this an on or off road vehicle. I could see it both ways
I never thought to put a nostalgia top on a T body :P sweet

Ok, I just found the pics on samba and was going to repost them here but its already done.

I always wanted to build one of those truck roadsters, thought it might be more practical around the ranch but it probably end up being a show piece like all of them do.

It looks like your daughter is not to impressed with your new aquisition, she will change her mind after goes for a ride around the block.

Again welcome to the club and don't be afraid to ask any questions.

Welcome. You've come to the right place for a great bunch of folks. That "truggy" looks like it has real potential. I'm looking forward to watching the build.
Also, consider coming out to the Buggy Roundup in September. It'd be a great opportunity to meet some of us.

went to work immediately stripping the body off
then we cut it and have it pushed together ready to start squaring everything up to weld
i have a free body if anyone wants a standard bug body for a chop
i wish it were easier to post pics on this forum i would throw some shots up
