Hi all!
Just recently signed up for this club, but been around for a few months. Some members may know me from the ManxClub and other places. All the while I thought I had to be in Texas in order to join. I was in the Air Force from 1978 to 1982 and spent boot camp in San Antonio, and tech school in Wichita Falls at Shepard Air Force Base. I have #60 of the Signature Manx Series;

It took several years to build, went on its maiden voyage in '04, and it's been a blast every time I take it for a ride. The recent rainy weather kept it in the garage for the past several weeks.
During the build process, I took lots of pictures and filled up a photo album to doucument the journey. I'll have to spend several hours scanning them someday just to share.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Happy Holidays from Hawaii!
John

Hawaii weather

Postby 167luckycharm » 15 Sat Dec, 2007 1:40 pm

Hey,
Right now, it's definitely NOT buggy weather since it's raining off and on. However, compared to the weather conditions I saw on the news that the midwest is having...worse yet, those north eastern folks... I can understand why most people would take the trip to Hawaii even if it's only rain falling. What the heck, just drop by my place anytime. Just call first and I can make some room in the driveway for everyone to park :)
(.)(.) See ya' later!

A great big "Howdy" from East Texas. Glad to have you along. As far as the weather is concerned, I didn't think there was any weather that is wrong for buggyin'. Rain, tornados, cold, or sun: it's all buggy weather!!!

Hey, thanks for the welcome! Blackthree4me, I haven't been able to find this month's HVW's issue yet. You're right though, the buggies here in Hawaii are way off the scale. I opted for the early 70's look...Cragars, single hoop or style bar, and glitter gelcoat. I have a set of Centerlines and a set of white steelies with matching moon hubcaps, just in case I want to go with the 80's race/street appearance or the early 60's vintage look. Once the Cragars went on, I didn't want to take them off. I got a lot of thumbs-up from the passer-bys (mostly babes at the beach) with the Cragars on. I'd expect some challenges from the ricer crowd when I finally install the Centerlines just for kicks. For now, I'm enjoying it as much as I can.
Thanks again for the replies!
Aloha!
