Good Day,

For 5 years I drove a jeep tj No top no doors rain hail the works ;)

I sold my Jeep for the wife to get a nice care since she is pregnant and Find myself missing that jeep. I drive a Friends Manx clone and I was in love with that car.

it was what I wanted in a jeep but alot more peppy!! A inline 6 has no go ;)

So what I guess I am asking is or doing here is to get into a MANX vw bug clone something along those lines.

Apperently Dallas doesnt have many for sale and I am not too hot at a ground build up of a chasis.

Would a new body fit on this? http://dallas.craigslist.org/rvs/618094975.html

IE this body on that frame?

The buggy on Craigs list is a rail buggy with metal panels put on........the blue buggy is a texas Buggy on a tube frame, they will not interchange.

If you want to go to a manx type buggy contact either Texas Buggys or Hawkeye Buggies.build turn key cars..........both are sponsors of this club and they both build quaility products.

There are more of us in Dallas than you might think, this club sstarted in Dallas.

No, a fiberglass buggy body won't fit a sandrail type frame. Well, let me clarify...anything will fit anything....with work. But is it a "bolt on"....no.

Berrien Buggies sells frames that will fit a glass buggy body. Others do as well.

Don't be to hard on yourself,

I'm up to my neck in redoing one of these things right now, and mine started off a whole lot worse than that one.

I don't have any experience in working on cars, never even changed the oil in one, but its coming along and its been very satisfying learning as I go.

Postby Rick Leddon » 31 Mon Mar, 2008 8:13 am

I have three manx for sale. All three ready to jump in and go. Two are just rebuilt, the third is a very nice vintage buggy, restored and in original silver metelflake. I'm in McKinney, come by and take a look. Thanks Rick

Hey Rick,
How have you been??? We need to plan another outing up there in Prosper. I hear that Belair-n-Burger had a car show this weekend. If the weather had turned out I was planning on driving the buggy up to check it out.
We have another member up there in Mckinney. Maybe we need to drive by and check out his buggy. I'm always looking for an excuse to drive the buggy.
Why are you selling part of the collection?? I hate to see any of them going.

Hey David:

I was driving the buggy yesterday and thinking the same thing, time for a outing. How does need Sunday look. The new guy in McKinney, Cory, has expressed a interest in getting together. He wants to see some buggies up close. Maybe a group of us can go see him.

I can supply plenty of "snacks/beverages" to anyone that wants to make a pitstop in McKinney.

Y'all can laugh at my project. Now I have some serious incentive to get going on this this week to lessen the embarassment of anyone seeing this mess.
