leaking oil seal

Is it possible for the wheel seals to leak if the axle nuts are not tight enough or did I just get bad seals when I had the trans rebuilt?

Rick, they will leak if the wheels are not real tight.
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!

I'm not sure about VWs, but new seals can leak. I've had that problem in the past. :)

Just my humble opinion, but I installed the seals and the backing plates on that transmission....and they won't leak if the wheels are tight.
